The Garden Route Botanical Garden lost a great friend and major contributor when Robin Clark passed away on Monday, July 4. Robin made a major contribution to the development and management of the Botanical Garden. Two decades ago he was the first person to perceive the need for a reorientation of the functioning of the Garden. He organised a meeting of interested friends of the garden to discuss the future functioning of the GRBG. At this meeting a committee was established to take the matter further. From this the current management structure of the GRBGT flowed. Robin served, for many years, with great distinction as trustee and as chair of the board of trustees. His friendly nature and ability to resolve conflict effectively contributed much to the progress of the Garden.
