Plant sale: It is that time of year again and the Garden Route Botanical Garden is gearing up for a fantastic Spring Indigenous Plant Sale.  This year you will have the pleasure of buying plants from a variety of participating nurseries and various other interesting stalls.

The Garden Route Botanical Garden Trust is inviting interested and qualified parties to submit business proposals for developing and operating the licensed Tea Garden and Coffee Shop of the Garden Route Botanical Garden Trust.

This is a reminder about the WJ Burchell Centenary Commemoration to be held in George on 19 September 2014.

Geochaching treasures can now be found in the Garden Route Botanical Garden ... Find out how to play this exciting game. 

The Garden Master Plan, which was introduced at the recent Annual General Meeting, will be available for viewing at the Moriarty Centre during National Science Week (2 - 9 August 2014) along with several architectural concepts for the planned Environmental Education Centre. Garden members and the general public are encouraged to come and view the designs and provide feedback.

NEW POND AT THE GRBG NURSERY

This pond was constructed in a water-logged area of the nursery, solving both the drainage problem and the need for a home for our water-plants.

 

Introducing the new Trust and Board portfolios
 
At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Garden Route Botanical Garden Trust (held Monday 23rd June 2014) four members were voted onto the board of Trustees including 3 new board members Sue Harris, Fahdiel Manuel and John North. Outgoing chairperson Robin Clark was also re-elected as Trustee and will continue to serve on the Finance portfolio of the board. Other Trustees that will remain in office include Colin Ralston, Ken Gie, Lorraine McGibbon, Cingiswa Mtabati, Chris Neethling and Benjamin Walton.

ENTRANCE FEES:  R10.00 per person. Children under 12 get in for free, if accompanied by an adult. 

 

OFFICE & NURSERY HOURS:

Monday - Thursday:     08h00 – 17h00

Friday:                        08h00 – 14h30 

 

NURSERY Open every first Saturday of the month from 09h00 - 12h00.
