MTB (Mountain Trail Biking) / Cycling
From the forest gate at the most northern point of our gardens you are able to access the state forest which boasts unlimited MTB tracks. Terrain is mostly quality gravel and jeep track as well as some specific single track routes.
Walks & Hikes
If you are out for a gentle stroll or serious hike – the Botanical Gardens offers both scenic strolls around the dam (check out our Bird Hide) or a short nature trail (10 min) along a stream to the more serious full-day hiking trails that can be accessed from the Gardens.
ENTRANCE FEES - Entrance is R10.00 per person. Children under 12 get in for free, if accompanied by an adult.
The GRBG is situated centrally and yet borders mountain forests and the Outeniqua Nature Reserve. The southern, town side of the Garden, is dominated by two wetland areas where water-loving plants are set amongst fynbos and trees and visitors can relax and enjoy the restful ambience and, usually, a display by resident waterfowl.
